Egypt, represented by Egypt Post hosts a workshop on “Basis Program for Operational Postal Processes” organized by the International Bureau of the Universal Postal Union in the Regional Postal Training Center headquarters in Cairo, from 12 to 22 May. The workshop is attended by more than 60 participants from Sudan, Yemen, Libya and the best international experts in the International Bureau of the Universal Postal Union. In order to improve the operational efficiency of the Arab and African countries, the workshop includes training programs on developing e-commerce, improving quality of postal services and operational processes,
Dr. Sharif Farouk, Chairman of Egypt Post said that “This training program comes within Egypt Post endeavors to support building capacities of postal authorities”, noting that Egypt Post seeks through this training program to support implementation of the Arab regional project to improve operational efficiency, develop e-commerce, build capacities of Sudan Post, Yemen Post and Libya Post, provide all support to them and transfer international expertise to their postal employees in improving performance of postal services, modernizing and developing operational processes fields.
Dr. Farouk explained that the Arab regional project supported by the Universal Postal Union will continue during the current cycle (2021-2025), for building the capacities of postal authorities in e-commerce. As the project includes the implementation of many operational goals, along with continuous measurement of achieved progress in performance indicators of compliance with the minimum of operational, technical and regulatory requirements for postal shipping services, integration of supply chains, accuracy of exchanged electronic data, in addition to the quality and reliability of the service from end to end “from sender to addressee”.
The program of the workshop includes a field visit to Egypt Post Logistics Center at Cairo Airport, to avail trainees the opportunity to see the achieved developments that contributed to raising the quality level of provided postal services to citizens.
