The Minister of Housing issues a decision to replace some texts of the articles of the executive regulations added to the Building Law to simplify licensing procedures

Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, issued Ministerial Resolution No. 943 of 2024 to replace some texts of the articles of the executive regulations added to the Building Law with Ministerial Resolution No. 410 of 2021, which are the texts of Articles (110 bis – 112 bis 1 – 117 bis), in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, to simplify and shorten the procedures for issuing building permits within the cities of local administration units to reduce the burden on citizens.

Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny stressed that the amendments will support the urban development movement, which represents the most important state sectors supporting and driving the economy, and the state’s keenness to stop further random growth and close the unplanned construction file and encourage citizens to obtain building permits to build a healthy, safe and secure building, and on the other hand, increase the housing stock offered by the private sector.

The Minister of Housing indicated that he issued the decision that included replacing some texts of the articles added to the executive regulations of the Building Law to be applied to local administration units in the cities of the governorates, which included returning to work with the provisions of the Building Law by the competent administrative body represented by the Technology Center and the administration concerned with planning and organization affairs in the local units assuming its role in preparing a statement of the site’s eligibility from the planning point of view and building requirements, and reviewing the licensing file without resorting to units of a special nature in universities. He said: The amendments also included reducing the documents required to obtain a license with the cancellation of the requirement to submit a registered contract among the documents required to obtain a statement of the site’s eligibility or obtain a license and sufficing with submitting any of the documents indicating ownership.
