Minister of Housing: Field trips for new city officials to speed up implementation of drinking water system projects…and campaigns on hidden connections.

The heads of the development agencies of the cities of the New Administrative Capital, Sadat, Obour, and New Assiut, conducted field tours to monitor the speed of completion of the implementation of drinking water system projects, in addition to launching campaigns on hidden connections, within the framework of the necessity of controlling and governing the drinking water system, and tightening control over water quantities. Expanding the installation of meters for measuring produced water and subscribers’ meters, confronting stealthy connections, taking the necessary measures against violators, raising the rates of collecting consumption bills, and collecting debts and arrears, in order to achieve financial balance between revenues and expenses.

This was stated by Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, noting that officials of the new city agencies confirmed during their inspection tours the intensification of all work at the level of drinking water facilities projects, and the work to expedite the completion of all work on the scheduled dates and with the required specifications.

In this context, Eng. Ahmed Mohamed Abdel Razek, Head of the New Administrative Capital City Development Authority, made an inspection tour of the New Administrative Capital “Stacking” lift station for drinking water and feeding the New Administrative Capital, coming from the 10th of Ramadan City.

Engineer Ahmed Mohamed Abdel Razek explained that the storage capacity of the lift amounts to approximately 100,000 cubic meters of potable water daily, which feeds many areas in the New Administrative Capital City, including the third residential district, the ministries district, as well as the strategic reservoir, which in turn feeds the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ, and the district. The seventh residential area, Celia area, and the investment area.

He said: The tanks inside the stacking station are 4 drinking water tanks with a storage capacity of more than 8 thousand cubic meters with a total capacity of 34 thousand cubic meters per day, and they contain 6 pumps in the first stage, as well as 6 pumps in the second stage.

The head of the New Administrative Capital City Development Authority held a meeting with officials of the Arab Contractors Company implementing the project, the project consultant, and the operation and maintenance crew based at the station, to follow up on the implementation rates, and stressed the speedy completion of all field work, as well as the commitment to the intense presence of the operation and maintenance crew.
