Within the framework of the bank’s expansion strategy at the level, and in order to achieve the principle of financial inclusion that aims to provide all financial services to various segments of society, Mr. Mohamed El-Etreby, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Banque Misr, opened on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, the Banque Misr – EgyptAir branch located at the headquarters of the EgyptAir Holding Company, in the presence of Mr. Eng. Yehia Zakaria, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the EgyptAir Holding Company, Captain Mohamed Moussa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of EgyptAir Airlines, Mr. Maged Abdullah, Head of the Branches Sector, Mr. Moataz Motawea, Head of the Retail Banking Sector at Banque Misr, and a distinguished group of leaders from the bank and EgyptAir Holding Company.
The opening of the branch is a new step towards enhancing cooperation and integration between the two parties and a continuation of the thought of the pioneer of the national economy, Talaat Harb Pasha, who founded the Bank of Egypt in 1920, and who led the idea of national savings and directing those national savings towards economic and social development, to establish the first bank established and owned 100% by Egyptians. Since its establishment, Bank of Egypt has established many companies in various fields, and EgyptAir, which was established in 1932 with a capital of 40,000 pounds, is one of the first companies established by Bank of Egypt, as EgyptAir is the 13th national company that Bank of Egypt contributed to establishing under the leadership of the pioneer of the Egyptian economy and founder of Bank of Egypt, Mohamed Talaat Harb Pasha.
The branch is a new link in the chain of bank branches, which reaches about 850 branches and banking units spread throughout the republic; This is to facilitate customers to deal with their accounts from any branch of the bank, in addition to meeting the needs of a large number of employees in the company, contributing to facilitating financial and banking services for them, as Banque Misr is unique in that it has the largest network of branches spread throughout the republic, electronically connected to operate as one branch, in order to facilitate the customer to deal with his accounts from any of the bank’s branches. The bank also has an advanced network of ATM machines reaching more than 5,500 machines; equipped and equipped with the latest technological technologies that provide withdrawal and deposit services, currency exchange, bill payment, donations, and cash transfer services. The bank also provides other innovative services; as Banque Misr is the first bank to provide withdrawal and deposit services for electronic mobile phone wallets through its network of ATM machines.
