Dr. Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Eng. Mostafa El-Bagoury, CEO of Siemens Egypt, Stefan May, CEO of the Electrical Solutions and Automation Sector at Siemens AG, Andreas Matte, CEO of the Electrical Products Sector at Siemens AG, and the accompanying delegation, in the presence of Eng. Sabah Mashali, Deputy Minister, met to discuss cooperation in the field of localizing the electrical equipment industry, especially at medium and low voltages, and using modern technology in terms of monitoring and operating systems for the electrical grid SCADA, as well as energy management programs in the electrical grid EMS and various other fields, within the framework of the urgent plan to improve services and the quality of electrical supply, reduce losses, confront the phenomenon of electricity theft, and improve performance rates in the networks.

A meeting was held to discuss proposals for joint work and cooperation in light of the work strategy and open the way for the private sector to benefit from its administrative, technical and technological expertise within the framework of the general trend towards localizing the industry

. During the meeting, Dr. Mahmoud Esmat reviewed the various aspects of cooperation with the company and its effective projects in partnership with the electricity sector, and discussed increasing opportunities for cooperation, especially in the field of local manufacturing of equipment and monitoring and operating systems for the network SCADA electrical systems as well as EMS power grid energy management programs using the latest technology methods and proposals on how to reduce loss and theft of low-voltage electricity within the framework of a plan to manage wasted energy in all uses, especially domestic and industrial. The meeting discussed the possibility of joint work in various fields to improve the quality of services provided and improve performance rates in affiliated companies.

Dr. Mahmoud Esmat stressed the depth of relations between Egypt and Germany and the fruitful cooperation with the German company Siemens in various fields and the partnership in implementing a number of projects and programs, pointing to the ambitious future visions and taking into account the energy transformation and expansion in renewable energy projects and preserving the environment, explaining that the necessary measures will be taken to confront the encroachment on the electricity current and confront the phenomenon of electricity theft, within the framework of the action plan to achieve quality in all electrical services provided to citizens, pointing to the efforts made to achieve stability and maintain the continuity of the unified network and rely on renewable energies and reduce fuel use and improve operating efficiency and others to maintain the sustainability of electricity. Dr. Esmat said that the state supports the localization of the industry related to renewable energy tasks within the framework of a comprehensive vision to support industry and localize technology.

Praising what Siemens is doing to enhance its presence in the Egyptian market, he pointed out the interest of the electricity and renewable energy sector in local manufacturing of electrical equipment and supplies and working on developing the network and gradually transforming the current network from a standard network to a smart network that helps accommodate large generating capacities, and working with the latest technologies to accommodate and transmit energy with the highest efficiency and least loss, stressing the concerted efforts to achieve stability and continuity of the electric current and confront all forms of encroachment and confront the phenomenon of electricity theft.
