ICT, Public Business Sector Ministers Discuss ERP Project Updates

The Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat has received the Minister of Public Business Sector Mohamed Shimi at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology’s (MCIT) headquarters in the New Administrative Capital. They explored opportunities to enhance cooperation and coordination across several fields.

The two ministers held an extensive meeting to assess the implementation status of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system within the companies affiliated with the Ministry of Public Business Sector. They also discussed ways to strengthen cooperation to accelerate progress and ensure the system’s high-quality application.

The meeting was attended by the Vice ICT Minister for Infrastructure and Digital Transformation Raafat Hindy, the Advisor to the ICT Minister for Technological Talents Hoda Baraka, and several officials from the two ministries.

During the meeting, the ICT Minister underscored the significance of cooperation between the two ministries to advance the use of digital technologies and solutions in managing the operations of the companies affiliated with the Ministry of Public Business Sector. The collaboration aims to improve the companies’ performance, boost productivity, and bolster their contribution to the national economy, the ICT Minister highlighted. He explained that this cooperation aligns with MCIT commitment to driving digital transformation across all state institutions, empowering them to leverage digital technologies to optimize their operations.

For his part, Shimi emphasized his Ministry’s dedication to developing management practices and enhancing governance within the affiliated companies. He underlined the importance of automating workflows using the latest IT tools and following digital standards. He noted that the Ministry of Public Business Sector has been upgrading and developing the IT infrastructure and training employees to use modern technologies and digital work systems. These efforts aim to improve operational efficiency, boost production, and ensure the rapid and accurate flow of data.
