Egypt Post and Visa have signed a cooperation agreement in e-payments. The aim of the agreement is to drive growth, bolster digital transformation and financial inclusion efforts, and facilitate the issuance of e-payment cards, expanding the range of digital financial services and solutions to enhance the financial services offered by Egypt Post.

The agreement builds on the long-standing strategic partnership between Egypt Post and Visa, spanning over 20 years. It marks a significant step towards improving and broadening the scope of Egypt Post’s digital financial services while ensuring greater financial accessibility for citizens nationwide.

In addition, the agreement underscores Egypt Post’s commitment to supporting the government’s digital transformation and financial inclusion plans by introducing innovative financial payment solutions. These efforts aim to accelerate digital progress, minimize reliance on cash transactions, and deliver financial services tailored to the diverse needs of Egypt Post’s customers.

Egypt’s e-payment sector is experiencing remarkable growth, aligning with national efforts to strengthen digital infrastructure and advance financial inclusion. Egypt Post, as the country’s largest issuer of payment cards, seeks through this agreement to promote a culture of digital payments and implement digital transformation and financial inclusion strategies across all segments of society, including remote and rural areas. This will help bridge the digital divide among different social groups and support the gradual transition towards a cashless society.

Egypt Post, established in 1865, is one of the longest-standing government organizations in Egypt. It is a one-stop shop for a wide range of postal, financial, and governmental services. Thanks to its vast network of outlets, Egypt Post has become a popular destination for public services, including Digital Egypt services, civil status, traffic, National ID renewal, utility bill payment, pension disbursement, current accounts, money transfer, mail, parcels, and express shipping services, among others.
